RRCC goal is to not turn anyone away, serve the community, and support local.
98% of the students are Colorado residents
Currently there is 13% staffing vacancy. The workforce serves 4 counties, Park, Gilpin Clear Creek, and Jefferson. They are out in the community to find out what industries and community partners need. Teaching students to leave things better than they were when they entered college. To be able to have a family sustaining wage. Equable outcomes for all students, High School, Adults, Vets, and Disabled.
RRCC wants to be the Partner of Choice – have business and industry look to RRCC for employees.
College of choice – change the narrative about community colleges as a last choice or chance.
Be in and of the community. The college provides 75% of the local nurses and 90% of the first responders.
It is affordable at %5400 per year.
Student breakdown
27 – 30% still in High School
45% Traditional students 18 – 25 years od
30% Adults
12,000 students are currently enrolled. It was 14,000 before the pandemic.
2 campuses Arvada – Health mainly and PA program. Other programs at Lakewood campus.
RRCC sends around 500 students to Mines annually.
Manufacturing training available, welders, machinist (partner with Warren Tech)., and advanced manufacturing training.
Partnership with Coors.
To teach at RRCC must have masters in field or master plus 18 graduate credits in field.
