Jeffco Eats’ mission is to reduce the number of children experiencing hunger in Jefferson County, Colorado and to increase their nutritional intake through healthy, quality foods.
Food insecurity is at an all-time high. Its surging growth requires surging support. Jeffco Eats tackles the root causes of hunger by providing healthy, nutritious food to families and children in our community. We are strategically focused to meet needs for weekend food in high population of food insecure children in schools. In collaboration with local organizations, we are dedicated to building a stronger, healthier, and hunger-free Jefferson County. Together, we will ensure no one goes hungry and that every child and family can access the food they need to thrive.
Jeffco Eats is powered by dedicated community members willing to donate their time and resources to help us combat food insecurity and get food to children and families who need it most. Approximately 50 volunteers join us weekly, including individuals, families, and corporate or group teams, managed by our volunteer coordinator through the Helping Habit program.
Our Process:
Each week, a volunteer picks up our food order at the Food Bank of the Rockies and takes it back to our packing location, where volunteers will be ready to unload the truck, stock the shelves, and pack food totes. When these food totes are completed, volunteer drivers will deliver them to our food partner sites.
